Things Mean A Lot At The Time

“scares me how you get older

how you forget about each other

things mean a lot at the time

don't mean nothing later”

-Red House Painters

In 1999, I realised that I only had a few copies of my original poetry books left. Rather than try to make new copies, I decided to take my favorites from the first 3 books and add them to the new poems I had written. Poetry, for me, presents one fleeting moment of emotional perspective, moments that are real and crucial, but also temporal. This collection both longs for nostalgia and surrenders to change.
