Since my last book in 2001, I fell in love with teaching. It became my passion and means of pro-action. I work with the neediest kids. I found that I didn't need poetry in the same way as I did before. I'm not sad about this in the least. Becoming a teacher was the best thing to happen to me. It keeps me present in the moment, actively giving, channeling all my passion into helping children. Lately, I find I am wanting balance. Creating this blog has made me want to pull the poet voice back into this present tense. Inspiration is starting to simmer in metaphors and similies. It's less about my voice that needs to be heard, but I want to write for whose who have no voice. So, stay tuned.
