I am telling secrets;
want to listen?
I am giving out
and giving in,
without giving up.
If you sit quiet,
you may hear it.
If you stop still-
you might know.
I often admire
the way you speak
and the shift
in your voice
when you get serious.
Suppose, I let you in
and kept you close;
would you stay real
as free as you are.
Suppose your confidence
became my confidence-
would my strength have depth
and your depth have strength?
You lock up
never too safe,
but what you leave
left open tells more
to me than words.
I am telling secrets
not for just anyone
to understand,
but suppose you do-
would you try to keep
me.
